I am 63, all through my younger years in school I was in IGC classes, I really never knew what it meant at the time, except that I would be very bored in regular course.

My IGC teachers were so different. They taught us individually, and they brought out our wonderful characteristics. I love to write and paint I would draw clothes and homes with many rooms. I apologize for my grammar I am voice texting.

I remember being skipped grades, which made my learning just a tad more difficult but I do remember my teachers telling me you’ve excelled on all your test you received 100% we cannot give you 100% on your report card so you will receive a 95 that was through high school. The teachers were special too.
I don’t know what they saw me to single me out for the individualism of skipping grades and being intellectually gifted sub. For the fact, I was the oldest of 7 siblings and really, and truly help my mother raise the family while my father worked.

I would love to actually read about the specific strategies that should be used in the classroom with GT children.

I will talk to my principal about having some workshops so I can learn more about gifted and talented students. Gifted and Talented students might be gifted in one area but not in another. Using technology for students is a plus if they are not reading on level.

I have taught GT students for the past 2 years. I have enjoyed watching the videos so far. I liked the first video where he talked about not making everything for the average person. We need to think about focusing on the individual child.
